This course is an initiative of Te Whare Angitu designed to prepare uri completing English at NCEA (Level 1).
Uri will become familiar with:
Creative writing conventions.
Formal and informal writing procedures.
Gathering, analysing and processing information literacy skills.
Communicating ideas through static image, speech, film studies and connections across texts.
This course will take concepts from our lived worlds and experiences, embracing them by using these kaupapa as the foundation of our teaching, learning and assessment.
English: Curriculum Level 3 (Uri must be at least Year 9 to apply).
Confident and competent to navigate and engage in new digital spaces.
Uri must be reliable, responsible, self-managing, self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards learning.
LEARNING PATHWAYS
This course will position uri to be successful at English NCEA (Level 1) and beyond.

REQUIREMENTS
A device that can access the internet, with camera and microphone.
Stable Wifi access at kura and home.
Self-motivated and able to learn independently.
