We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead the design and delivery of personalised professional learning and development (PLD) for Pou Whakarito. This role focuses on strengthening the capability of kura ā-iwi to develop and implement effective systems that provide relevant and meaningful support for uri whaikaha (students with specific learning needs, abilities and physical disabilities), their whānau, and kura communities.
Pou Whakarito is a new pilot position rolling out across 10 kura in 2025 with the intention of a full rollout across Ngā Kura ā Iwi during 2026 and 2027. Pou Whakarito play a vital role in providing fundamental skills, knowledge, advocacy, to work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for uri whaikaha who require extra support for their learning.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to kaupapa Māori approaches and advancing uri whaikaha success in education. A key aspect of this role involves developing and facilitating high-quality, evidence-informed PLD that meets the unique needs of kura ā-iwi and whānau.
