KAIWHAKATERE PĀNGARAU

The Kaiwhakatere Pāngarau will lead, develop and teach our NCEA Pāngarau programme which intends to support the students in our smaller kura.  Student enrolment is based on readiness and not age and our intention is that the Whare Angitu Pāngarau programme will support our students to achieve in Pāngarau and their future life and career aspirations.  The teacher will know how to ensure that Māori students can connect to learning and to thrive.   

​The Whare Angitu Pāngarau programme will begin in 2022 with a NCEA Level 1 Pāngarau group of students. Each year the programme will extend to the next level (level 2 in 2023, level 3 in 2024). We need an innovative, caring and committed teacher who is passionate about Māori students achieving in NCEA mathematics.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED IN:
  • NCEA course development
  • Experience in teaching and assessment, preferably in Pāngarau

KAIWHAKATERE TAIAO

The Kaiwhakatere Taiao will develop and teach a Taiao (Environment and Sustainability) NCEA programme for our Uri to develop them to be Toa Taiao (Environmental Leaders an Advocates) for their whānau, hapū and iwi. Ideally this programme will be taught in Te Reo Māori and will begin in 2022 with an NCEA Level 1 Toa Taiao group of students.

​Each year the programme will extend to the next level (level 2 in 2023, level 3 in 2024). We need an innovative, passionate teacher who is committed to empowering our young people across Aotearoa to be our environmental guardians, activists, and advocates for their people.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED IN:
  • NCEA course development
  • Experience in teaching and assessment, preferably in Taiao subject areas (science, environmental studies, biology)

KAIHAUTŪ ORANGA

The Kaihautū Oranga will lead the establishment of the Oranga Arm of Te Whare Angitu. This role is totally focused on ensuring that our young people across Aotearoa have access to excellent well-being services and support.  The initial well-being priorities for Te Whare Angitu that will be under the leadership of the Kaihautu Oranga are:
  • The Uri Counselling and Support Service that will serve our Uri across Aotearoa 
  • The Uri Sports Strategy to Encourage Uri Participation in Sport and High-Performance Sport Opportunities - overseen by the Kaihautū and implemented by the Kaiwhakatere Hākinakina
  • Contributing to the NKAI-wide Oranga Uri strategy that we are aiming to develop during 2022 

​EXPERIENCE REQUIRED IN:
  • Rangatahi wellbeing, with a particular focus on youth counselling
  • Hauora programme development and leadership

KAIWHAKATERE HĀKINAKINA

The Kaiwhakatere Hākinakina will work within the Oranga Arm of Te Whare Angitu and will lead our sports strategy to encourage participation, enjoyment and set a pathway for NKAI High-Performance by:
  • Coordinating the sports participation and enjoyment initiatives for our students across NKAI regions and kura
  • Leading and coordinating the High-Performance Sports Strategy that will enable motivated students to play sport at an elite level in targeted codes 

​EXPERIENCE REQUIRED IN:
  • Youth sports initiative leadership
  • Youth coaching experience
