Ngā Kura ā Iwi o Aotearoa is pleased to announce that the 2026 Uri Tautāwhi pūtea is now open for kura to access. This pūtea supports initiatives that uplift and strengthen taha hinengaro and overall wellbeing for our tamariki mokopuna.
Whats new this year? Thanks to the positive outcomes across kura in 2025, this year's funding allocation has been increased and the pūtea will be released in two installments:
Installment 1 = Term 1
Installment 2 = Term 3
PURPOSE OF THE PŪTEA
The Uri Tautāwhi pūtea can support:
Specialist clinicians or practitioners.
Hauora and wellbeing programmes.
Initiatives or activities that strengthen taha hinengaro.
Resources that promote positive emotional, mental, and cultural wellbeing.
Every kura decides how best this pūtea can support their uri.
