Do you want to keep studying?
Subject to entry requirements, educational pathways may include:
  • Poutuarongo Whakaakoronga Wharekura (Te Wānanga o Raukawa)
  • Te Tohu Paetahi Ako: Bachelor of Education (Teaching) (Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi)
  • He Korowai Ākonga – Bachelor of Education (Primary Education)
  • Bachelor of Teaching

Do you want to pursue employment opportunities?
  • Kaiāwhina or untrained teacher with Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) in Māori medium or other kura auraki.
  • Māori medium kaiako (following Bachelor of Teacher training at Wānanga, Universities, PTE or Institutes of Technology).

learning approach

This programme consists of 15 credits and follows a blended learning approach, combining wānanga-based learning with a flexible, self-paced online format that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, on any device.

time commitment

This 10-week programme requires an average commitment of 15 study hours per week.

entry requirements

To enrol in this programme, you must be:
  • 16 years or older;
  • A New Zealand citizen (which includes citizens of Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau); or
  • A New Zealand resident currently living in New Zealand; or
  • An Australian citizen currently living in New Zealand; or
  • An Australian permanent resident who has a returning residents visa and is currently living in New Zealand.
