Pathway to a Masters in Mana Motuhake Leadership or Masters level programmes at universities and wānanga (subject to entry requirements).

Do you want to pursue employment opportunities?
  • Leadership roles within Ngā Kura ā Iwi o Aotearoa.
  • Leadership roles within other kura, wharekura, primary and secondary schools.
  • Leadership roles in Māori community organisations.
  • Leadership of wider community organisations focused on the wellbeing and advancement of communities or sectors of our communities.

learning approach

This full-time programme consists of 120 credits and follows a blended learning approach, combining wānanga-based learning with a flexible, self-paced online format that can be accessed anytime, anywhere, on any device.

time commitment

This 40-week programme requires an average commitment of 30 study hours per week:
  • Kaiako-directed hours: 6
  • Activity-directed hours: 24 (Learning is based on real-life application)

entry requirements

To enrol in this programme, you must be:
  • 18 years or older;
  • A New Zealand citizen (which includes citizens of Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau); or
  • A New Zealand resident currently living in New Zealand; or
  • An Australian citizen currently living in New Zealand; or
  • An Australian permanent resident who has a returning residents visa and is currently living in New Zealand.
