NCEA-BASED (Level 1) Course

TIROHANGA WHĀNUI

This course is an initiative of Te Whare Angitu designed for NCEA (Level 1) providing uri with taiao related kaupapa, including:
  • Te Oranga o te Taiao 
  • Wai, Whenua, Rangi 
  • Mana Taiao, Mana Tangata 
  • Ngā Wero mō te Taiao

Skills and capabilities covered include:
  • Mahi Rangahau
  • Scientific Investigation
  • Problem Solving
  • Communication and Collaboration

PAEARU WHAKAURU

  • Successful completion of Te Hōtaka Whakarite.
  • Te Reo Māori: Curriculum Level 5.
  • English: Curriculum Level 4.
  • Confident and competent to navigate and engage in new digital spaces.
  • Uri must be reliable, responsible, self-managing, self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Uri who have successfully completed the Pre-NCEA Pūrau course in 2024 will be offered the opportunity to enrol in Tiaki Taiao L1 2025.
