This English course will start with a focus on level 1 Unit standards and is geared towards the vocational pathway standards. It will focus on communication standards for those students wanting to achieve unit standards for a particular trade or diploma course.
This course has the further ability to continue the pathways English course into year 12 and 13 or can be achieved consecutively.
PAEARU WHAKAURU
This course is for Uri where English is not offered at their kura.
Basic reading, writing, listening, speaking and viewing skills.
Confident and competent to navigate and engage in new digital spaces.
Uri must be reliable, responsible, self-managing, self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards learning.
Kura must agree to support Uri to engage fully in the course, as outlined in Kawa Angitu.
NGĀ ARA AKO
This course will provide Uri with the confidence to engage in written and oral communication in a range of settings.
