Ngā Kura ā Iwi has funding available to support kura that are interested in hosting, coordinating, or collaborating with other kura to deliver kaupapa that strengthen the oranga of our uri. Funding may be used to support planning, delivery, transport, resources, or other costs that contribute to the successful implementation of your kaupapa, provided the focus remains on supporting our kura tuatahi.
What are Ahurei Oranga? Ahurei Oranga refers to kaupapa that nurture and enhance the wellbeing, identity, and connection of our uri within kura tuatahi settings. Te Taitokerau recently delivered the first pilot initiative, which included a range of hākinakina activities alongside opportunities for uri to come together to learn and practise NKAI waiata, haka, and mōteatea.
Each kura and community will have their own whakaaro about what best supports the aspirations and needs of their uri. We encourage kura to design kaupapa that reflect their local context, strengths, and priorities, while ensuring the kaupapa continues to:
Strengthen whanaungatanga across kura ā-iwi.
Support the oranga and wellbeing of our uri.
Deliver meaningful and engaging Ahurei Oranga experiences for our tamariki and rangatahi.
